Posting Identification Number 10-88-33360 Position Overview The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Support Service Worker for the Treatment and Detention Facility (TDF) located in Rushville, Illinois to perform routine, repetitive unskilled manual tasks associated with support services.
Performs support service functions in laundry, housekeeping, exterior building, campus cleanup and/or clothing services using standard equipment and machinery.
Job Responsibilities Performs routine, repetitive unskilled manual tasks associated with support services at the Treatment and Detention Facility.
Gathers, segregates and checks linens for foreign objects, other personal items and contraband.
Exercises safety precautions in the use and handling of supplies, tools and equipment.
Performs simple clerical record keeping tasks pertaining to activities performed.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six (6) months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to work after business hours weekends and holidays.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
Requires the ability to perform heavy physical work.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
